castor oil (ECO) which was used as a co-plasticizer with epoxidised soyabean oil (ESBO) for processing polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The structure of ECO was confirmed and its physico chemical properties were evaluated. PVC/ (ESBO&ECO) blends were prepared by melt mixing and compression molded into sheets.
The plasticized PVC sheets were prepared using emulsion grade PVC, DOP, ESBO and BE. Various combinations (on weight basis) of DOP ESBO and BE were prepared and used as plasticizing mixture. In each case, 50 parts of this mixture was mixed with 100 parts of PVC.
