The development of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology and their integration in smart cities have changed the way we work and live, and enriched our society. However, IoT technologies present several challenges
- What is HS code?
- The Harmonized System (HS) is a global product classification system. To export, you will need to know the HS Code for your product. Among classification systems, Harmonized System (HS) codes are commonly used throughout the import and export process for the classification of goods.
- Does the APEC list of environmental goods cover HS sub-headings?
- Currently, the APEC List of Environmental Goods only covers 54 HS sub-headings, which means that the list remains limited in its product coverage. From a trade perspective, a more meaningful contribution in support of green growth requires a more comprehensive range of products.
- What is CBP's Green Trade Strategy?
- Launched in June 2022, CBP’s Green Trade Strategy governs the agency’s efforts to combat climate change in the context of the trade mission and provides a framework to incentivize green trade, strengthen CBP’s environmental enforcement posture, accelerate green innovation, and improve climate resilience and resource efficiency.
- How can CBP support green trade?
- Executing against these goals will enable CBP to champion the green economy and accelerate the global transition to green trade both in the U.S. and abroad, while responsibly managing our own environmental footprint. The following principles serve as the overarching ideals that will guide CBP strategies and actions related to green trade:
- Do I need a HS code for shipping?
- To truly define exactly which part you are shipping would require a HS code to clearly label the item. What does HS code mean?
- HS code stands for Harmonized System code. What is an HS code for shipping?
- An HS code is a globally recognized classification of a traded product, via a system of names and numbers.
- Does APEC list of environmental goods support green growth?
- They include subsidies, licences and quotas; discriminatory concessional loans and grants to local exporters; and export tax rebates. The current APEC List of Environmental Goods, while serving to improve market access, is not in itself sufficient to support green growth. The literature suggests additional factors should be taken into account.
